Nice set, but the finish fails. - Mitch S. - Bartlett, TN
I've had this set for over 4 months. I bought it from QVC's site. The pots/pans are beautiful. They look real nice and a heck of a lot better than your standard pot/pan set. They have a decent heft to them. It's very convenient how they designed the lids to be able to hang on the pots/pans themselves. I cook real food at home, not your boxed/canned stuff (hamburger helper, stouffers, etc...). Last night I made a nice risotto, roasted brocolli and seared salmon. The night before a chicken parmigiana, spaghetti w/ragu and a prisciutto-wrapped roasted asparagus. The food always turns out nice and as you would expect.

The finish on the inside is a glossy stainless. I do not have sticking problems. I use the large stockpot to cook pasta a lot. It boils the water a lot quicker than my old, crummy pot. They are all easy to clean.

Now, on to the bad part. The manual clearly states these are dishwasher safe, but they recommend you hand wash them. The reason they recommend this is that nice finish will, and does, start to wear off after a few washes in the dish washer. A couple of my pots are to the point where it's hard to wipe a towel over the outter surface because it gets snagged on the coating that is wearing off. It went from a very appealing, dark grey, smooth finish to a light grey, spotty, rough finish. It functions the same and the inside is still perfect, but I didn't know the finish would wear off like this by running them through the dishwasher. I'm going to knock off a whole star for that alone.

The small pot's handle causes it to lean very slightly so the temperature is different on one side of the pot compared to the side opposite the handle. I use a glass-top stove, so maybe this wouldn't be an problem with a gas stove. It hasn't been a major issue, just an observance.

Would I rather have finished out my pots/pans with All-Clad? Yes. I started collecting some All-Clad, but didn't want to dish out ,200 for the rest of what I wanted. Given the price, I decided to give these a shot. I'm a huge Tyler fan and use his recipes often. The Florence set is much thinner, lighter and not as heavy-duty. I see replacing these in probably 5-10 years tops. If they were All-Clad, I could see it lasting the rest of my life (I'm 30). I will not be replacing these with another Florence set. The finish is too much of a disappointment. So, 3 stars. For the average home cook I think these will be just fine. Just don't put 'em in the dishwasher... Ever... I hate handwashing...

  • Cuisinart Classic Stainless Steel 8-Piece Cookware Set Reviews By Customers
  • I looked at many sets of stainless and found Cuisinart to be the best buy online through Amazon. When I received the set, I was absolutely delighted by my decision. It's beautiful and with the flat bottom fits so nicely on my flat-top range. It make cooking even more fun when I see the set on my stove cooking away. Not just plain practical for the price and function, but a fantastic bargain for the price. I'd recommend this set to anyone looking for a value in cookware.

excellent, almost - Debajyoti Roy - New Brunswick, NJ
quite like it, except for the heating of the handles and staining. Got a great deal from amazon

    The Panset - Daniel J. Griffin -
These arrived in excellent condition in very short order. They are of high quality and are not only easier to use than the "old" pans as they seem to heat more uniformly, but also they are easier to clean.

  • Le Creuset 3-Ply Stainless-Steel 8-Piece Cookware Set Reviews By Customers
  • I looked at different brands of stainless cookware before purchasing my LeCreuset and here are some of the features the others don't have that sold me on the LeCreuset. The pans nest evenly inside one another. The design of the handle allows the lid to fit into the handle. These pans are heavy - the extra handle is a big bonus when you have a full heavy pan to lift or move. I love the stainless lids that come with this cookware. The steamer insert (purchased separately) fits THREE different sizes of pans, comes with it's own glass lid, too. All of the pots have measurements on the inside walls for easy measuring (especially when reducing liquid).

This cookware, heats and cooks everything very evenly. These pans are very easy to use and clean. I have experienced some bluish discoloration that I am not happy with, but I am assured that it is only cosmetic and does not adversely affect the cookware.

This is great cookware, designed to last a lifetime of good hard use in the kitchen. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for excellent quality clad stainless cookware.

Beautiful cookware! - kathycooks - Fort Lauderdale, FL USA
Le Creuset is taking a shot at the high-end stainless cookware market with an exceptional product.
I got a set of these from a major department store. The quality is excellent. The saucepans are heavy and similar to the All-Clad, with 3-ply layering that isn't just on the bottom, but all the way up the sides. The rims are designed for pouring without the contents dribbling down the side of the pan. The handle is comfortable, although the pan is heavy. The lids are snug fitting and the bottoms are nice and even - perfect for induction cooking or any smooth-top surface.
They are dishwasher safe, but I'm going to hand wash them, at least until the novelty wears off :-)
I have only used them a few times so I can't say how well they hold up, but the well respected company offers a lifetime warranty.
They're beautiful and a pleasure to cook with.
I would recommend keeping an eye out for sales. I got my set on close-out at 50% off. I think Le Creuset is having trouble breaking into the high-end cookware market so you might get these for a steal.
